YAY!! Finally an article/interview (in danish) that was made a couple of months back has been published in the danish magazine Bazar! They asked me if I was interested in showing them, my (serious) collection of animal prints in all themes. A journalist and photographer came home to my place and they were blown away over, how much I had, and that I really wasn’t joking! haha… Listen, I have a dedicated passion for animal prints and that’s that!! When they had interviewed me and left, I found other home decorating and clothing that I had forgotten to show them, but then I thought… they probably got the idea…

Do you know who HARLEY VIERA-NEWTON is?
Neither did I… Thanks to The Coveteur and their great interviews of very cool people, I know which fashionable DJ I want to hear next time I’m in New York! Not only does she spin records at IN location in the city, but Dior Beauty named Harley as their House DJ and Beauty Ambassador! Oh, and she’s so delish that she has of course been featured in American Vogue, Purple, Elle, Self Service and Jalouse. Even Jay-Z is crazy about Harley, Roc Nation (Jay Z’s music management label) has just signed her as one of their DJ’s. My last praise about this wonder woman is that I’m COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY CRAZY about her animal passion in both fashion and home decorating!

What’s your favorite animal? I do not have a favorite animal but I do like dogs.
What’s your favorite animal print? Favorite animal prints,Hmm.., hard to choose but its between Leopard and Croc. Probably Croc if I must choose.
Why is your brand called House of Montague? I have this really complicated story I usually tell people when they ask but its simply because the name itself tied together all my ideas when creating the brand. Logo, vision, shoe names, expression, etc. And yes it is the name of the house where Romeo is from…
How did you get the idea of using leopard print in your AW12 collection? For our AW 12 collection I was really inspired by hunting and wild game, so naturally I had to use some animal prints. I choose to use leopard print as lining for a lot of the sneakers. I wanted a more subtle look to the collection and therefore decided “hide” print a little bit and make it more fun detail. Besides our shoes are for guys and its not all guys that want to flash an allover printed leopard sneaker but they tend to not mind a little splash in the details. In the collection we also have an “ostrich” sneaker in black or white
What do you think your customers will think about the leopard print? So far the reactions at tradeshows has been great, they all like the subtle approach and usual get surprised when looking closer at the shoes.
Really the reaction I was going for when I designed the collection. I believe customers can’t wait to flash their new sneakers and show off the insides!
When can the sneaks in the pictures from your AW12 collection be purchased on your webshop? August 2012! Can’t wait myself…
